Medieval Tours of Tuscany
Hilltowns of Tuscany Private Tour

This is a Private Only Tour of Tuscany. Definitely a must-see. Immerge yourself into tha magic of the landscape of Tuscany and let its ancient hills tell you the story of battles and kings, kinghts and noble families.

The Medieval Hilltowns of Tuscany are a must-see for a first time visitor. You can literally immerse yourself in the typical landscape of Tuscany: rolling hills dotted with cypress trees surrounded by old stone castles and farms of the Middle Ages.

Mercurio’s Medieval Hilltowns Tour takes you from Florence to Siena via San Gimignano - similar to the route of the Pilgrims during the days of the Crusades.

San Gimignano is a small hill - town with stone house - towers that go back to the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. Not far from San Gimignano is the city of Siena whose elegant Medieval palaces of terra-cotta brick rise majestically on its three hills. Piazza del Campo, the square where the three main streets converge into an open shell shaped piazza, is one of the most picturesque areas of the city.

Siena is a UNESCO world heritage site and being traffic –free it is one of the nicest cities to explore on foot and meander through its famous “contrade” or neighbourhoods whose animal symbols adorn its palaces, fountains and piazzas. This tour operates as a private custom tour with a minimum of 8 people.
