Florence is not only famous for its art, but also for its
Artisans. The "Other Side of the River" is where master
craftsmen work cheek by jowl next to Medieval stone towers
or Renaissance palaces. There is also a church whose
interior houses a portion of the Duke's passageway (Vasari
Corridor) which ends up in the Pitti Palace, the biggest and
most impressive palazzo in Florence. It houses the famous
Palatine Gallery - with masterpieces by greats such as
Raphael, Titian and Rubens, together with the lavish
interiors of the the Royal Apartments. The late afternoon
is the best time to visit them!
