ACADEMY GALLERY
Originally located in Piazza della Signoria, in 1873 Michelangelo's David was moved to the Academy in a monumental hall which enphasizes its extraordinary beauty.
Some of Michelangelo's most famous and powerful unfinished statues were then placed in the same hall and now give an enlighting example of the artist's method in sculpting.
Apart from Michelangelo's statues there is much more to see in this museum, from the interesting collection of plaster models to the 13th - 16th century paintings.
