Mercurio Tours official guides' group
We chose "Mercurio" as our name because Mercurio was the god of communication and our tours are truly based on interaction and communication. |

Mercurio Tours many "Pluses"
qualified guides with many years of experience, passion for art and culture and excellent command of the language. Most of them are native or have been living in Florence or Tuscany for many years and have a teachers' background so that they combine their skills of both teachers and guides to make the tours very enjoyable and educational.
They all passed a specific exam to qualify: make sure that any other tour you may choose is not conducted by someone who is just instructed to repeat the daily memorized lecture without really knowing the subject
museum reservations to avoid long waiting times
the smallest groups (we guarantee maximum 20 people per guide, who else?)
head sets for listening comfort when more than 12 participants. This also helps to keep places quieter
a less invasive type of tourism, with slowly paced tours, less crowded places - off the beaten path - whenever possible and special stops, such as at the Uffizi Cafeteria for a drink. Our tours include what's world famous but also what's less known
The support of one of the most appreciated tour operators in Florence with its friendly and efficient staff
The "anti-glare glass project for the Uffizi": through these tours Mercurio contributes funds to the Friends of the Uffizi Association which supports the Gallery.
The funds were used to protect three paintings with this special glass (Botticelli's Adoration of the Magi and Fra Angelico's Madonna and Child and Incoronation of Mary).
